Although plastic is certainly a globally important product, there are many environmental concerns associated with its use. In recent years researchers working in the field of civil engineering have been engaged in investigations about the reuse of waste plastic in construction. The final Part looks at the manufacturing of concrete with recycled plastic fibres. There are chapters on the fresh properties of concrete with plastic fibres; the mechanical properties of concrete reinforced with plastic fibres; shrinkage of concrete with plastic fibres; performance of asphalt concrete with plastic fibres; properties of self-compacting concrete reinforced with polypropylene fibers and durability of recycled plastic fibre-reinforced concrete; freeze-thaw resistance of concrete reinforced with plastic fibres and life cycle assessment. The book will be a valuable reference for academics, and industrial researchers working with the use of plastics in concrete construction, in polymer production technologies, concrete producers and manufacturers, as well as civil and structural engineers.
